I didn't think he was actually trying to convince Theon to run away. Knowing Euron, he was probably trying to push him to actually come and fight him so that he could kill/capture him as well. Euron had no reason to want to make Theon run, but has plenty of reason to try to goad him into a fight against him. It seems like more of a failed argument than a convincing one -cfitzgerald

Agree, a failed argument. You can see by the slight surprise/delight in his face when Theon jumps off. He really expected him to make a last final attempt at recovering his manhood.

Also it wasn't exactly Euron who convinces Theon to flee battle, it was the gruesome acts within the battle itself that convinces Theon, you can clearly see his facial expression change after he looks around the battle and sees peoples bodies being mutilated that causes him to flash back to being reek, he wasn't nearly as terrified of Euron as he was the whole situation -ssantise
