Nymeria changes Arya's mind to go back to Kings Landing instead of going back home. At least this is what I'm pretty sure happened. I know it's indirect since Nymeria can't speak, but wouldn't this be considered an action by Nymeria in that it sways the direction of story?

Id argue it was Hot Pie who changed her mind. She stated her intentions to him to head to KL and Hot Pie was the one who thought it was odd she wasnt heading the WF.

im paraphrasing but he said something along the lines 'id think youd go to winterfell.' and then informs her of what Jon did. Considering in the next scene she tell Nymeria she is headinf to Winterfell.

I think if you compare what Nymeria did and what Hot Pie did i would say Hot Pie was mich more influential. -hindsight44

what? that makes no sense. There's no way of knowing which direction she is going until we see her arrive there in the next episode. If anything, Hot Pie inadvertently convinced her to go home since he's the one that tells her the Boltons no longer hold Winterfell. She was headed home before she ran in to the wolves. Also, I am pretty sure Arya is convinced that wasn't Nymeria after all, so do you even count it as being Nymeria? -ssleppy

When Arya said "That's not you." She didn't mean that it wasn't Nymeria, she meant it as it's not in her character to go back home. Nymeria has an army of wolves or a family as it seems, as if she has a purpose..a purpose that's bigger than going back to Arya as her pet. Arya realizes she too has a greater purpose which is to avenge the deaths of her family. Going back home would counteract that duty. Back in the episodes of living Ned Stark, he told Arya that one day she will be a lady and get married and Arya replied "No. That's not me." This is clearly Nymeria and if in fact we find Arya heading back to King's Landing I think this is a point for Nymeria. I have a strong feeling that Nymeria's actions of not accepting Arya's invitation, will convince her to do what she set out to do in the first place. -nathan

Also even if Arya did change her mind, which we don't know she did, Nymeria did not make an argument. Her presence certainly impacted Arya, but existing is not an argument. -jedjackoway

But it wasn't just her presence. She rejected Arya's offer to come with her. Nymeria made a decision to not return to her owner which I think will sway Arya's decision to end up going to King's Landing. -nathan

You think, but we aren't sure as of yet. If we see Arya heading back towards King's Landing in a future episode then we can start discussion on this. Until then there is no proof that Nymeria convinced Arya to head down south, much less that Arya is even heading back down south. -hkeseyan

yeah i realized the it's not you thing later on this morning :-) either way Nymeria/Arya in no way should get points for this. as has been stated multiple times already, she was already headed to WF before she ran in to the wolves. -ssleppy

Good point hkeseyan. I actually won my head to head round anyway...so maybe I'd rather gain a point for Nymeria next episode if we indeed see Arya riding back to King's Landing. -nathan

To add to that...it says "Nymeria's actions contribute to her points". An action can be anything really. This is why I really think that if Arya decides to go back to King's Landing next episode then it's pretty easy to argue that Nymeria's actions had some weight to her decision making in going back. -nathan

We can clearly see after the scene with hot pie, that arya is going in the opposite direction of the soldiers heading to kings landing, and this after a long hesitation. This is the best indication telling us she is heading north. However if you still consider that we are not sure that it's the road to winterfell, it should be scored later, if not it is clearly hot pie and not nymeria who changed her mind -emilien.raggi

I'm aware that she's currently headed to Winterfell. That's why she asked Nymeria to go with her when they reunited for that brief moment. But after Nymeria rejected her offer by leaving, I think Arya is going to change her mind and head back to King's Landing. I'm only assuming this because she said "It's not you." Meaning it wouldn't be like either of them to go back home when they're needed for something greater. Hot Pie was the one that told Arya about her Jon being back in Winterfell which made her change her mind about going to home instead of continuing her journey to King's Landing. However if Nymeria's reaction to going home does in fact change Arya's mind again, then it's Nymeria that puts Arya back in the right direction. -nathan

@nathan good point to raise. As @jedjackoway and others mentioned, while there are hints, there's no confirmation yet on what Arya decided to do, and we'll wait for a more explicit confirmation of what happens.

When it does however, and if it's to turn back from Winterfell, I think you've made an excellent case that Arya was convinced by Nymeria (and it's fine that it's an unspoken, especially as all the Starks have a kind of warg backchannel to communicate). We'll see what happens next episode. -nyan
