I would say he is subservient though which would make him a follower. Theon multiple times has said he is not interested in power. It is custom in Ironborn culture that when a captain is abord his ship he is the King of that shit. So Theon who is ironborn and has no interestest in power is forced to follow this custom. Also last week talked about possibly giving points for saving someones life. This seems to be one of those situations. -hindsight44

Even if he isn't a prisoner, shouldn't he still be considered a follower? The rulebook states that a follower must be in a subservient role. Harrag is the captain of the ship therefore, Theon is subservient to him. Harrag is directing the ships course and Theon is literally following him wherever he goes. -ssantise

I agree that if we start seeing Theon do basic sailor stuff like scrubbing the decks or rowing, he'd be considered a follower for Harrag. I'd like to see a little more evidence of that, it's very possible that Theon is just a rescued passenger and he gets dropped off to Pyke or Dragonstone in the next episode. Like with Melisandre, we were speculating that she might join Daenerys' court and become her adviser, but she's just going to dip to Volantis instead and never formally serves Daenerys. -nyan
