Also, if Euron knows Theon is alive, we can expect that he doesn't want many people to know that. Sure, he's a loudmouth about Theon abandoning ship, but does he want everyone to know that the rightful heir to his kingdom is alive and kicking, plotting a comeback? -hkeseyan

There is absolutely no way that Euron definitively knows that Euron is still alive. Sure he may assume that he is but that is not knowing. Secondly him being alive is unimportant, knowing where he is, is far more important. -ssantise

I don't know that Euron cares for the fate of Theon at all. If he wanted to capture or kill Theon he easily could've, but it seems Euron regards Theon as completely worthless and not a threat. -nyan

Why does it matter if Euron cares about Theon. Theon's life and where-beings is a secret to everyone that "determine[s] the life/death fate of a character" which is the rule book definition for a point worthy secret. Furthermore I'm sure that both Yara and Dany would be interested to know that Theon is still alive. Theon is a named character, ranked ahead of 86 other named characters in the draft list, why would his life or lack thereof all of sudden become meaningless? -ssantise

I was more replying to the earlier comment that Euron doesn't want people to know that Theon is alive or his whereabouts. But definitely you brought up some good points that Theon's status and location is very important (and along the lines of the other thread, "useful, rare, actionable info") for someone like Dany, who may want to launch a rescue/recovery mission. -nyan

Also I don't believe this relevant to the slippery slope discussion. In that event the argument was based upon the idea that it was no secret that the dragonglass was at Dragonstone. Unlike the dragonglass there is no Stannis or Tyrion casually talking about where Theon was before Harrag pulled him on board. In fact as you pointed out, the only character to talk about Theon at all since he disappeared is Euron, who thinks he's dead, all the while Theon is secretly still alive. -ssantise
