Davos has had enough of Daenerys parading around as if she is the only one in the room with impressive accomplishments and a destiny to lead. He exhibits massive cojones and responds back to the Dragon Queen with an epic comeback, bringing up Jon Snow's credentials to counter Daenerys's:

Hmmm this is making me reevaluate the "comeback" category. This is a good *counterargument*, I'm not sure that it's a witty comeback. It works because it's a logically solid response that Jon Snow has credentials too, but these kinds of responses occur all the time whenever two characters are having a debate. A comeback doesn't need to work logically, it's about a good play on wording in response to the original statement. Think about a rap battle, the lines that get the cheers and "ooh what a burn" responses often don't make any sense at all (my mother could not be that fat, your scenario violates the physical laws of the universe and would be utterly ridiculous), but still work because of the way the line is delivered or the creative wording in it. -nyan

By your definition of a comeback then I think the "I wasn't there, your grace" lines fits very well. This response a little less so, but in the context of a rap battle, Davos's response here is at the quality of like an entire diss track. He's had enough of Dany parading around and basically just goes off on her, I think it deserved recognition, even if it has one foot outside the rule category. Anyway, Davos had an epic episode of great lines, Tyrion and Olenna level epic, and I think he should've got more credit, but you've been scoring these good lines much longer than anyone else -hkeseyan

Yeahh, it is a little tiring to be honest for the threads and submissions that stretch out for almost the whole week, and ultimately I'm not very satisfied that the subjective line gets unilaterally decided by me. It seems any given week we're getting agreement on 80% of the lines (similar for politics category) and we end up having long debates for people coming from different perspectives. I'd really like to come up with a more automated voting system, and just hand it off to community consensus (all lines with 67% approval rate are added in as insulting/funny). -nyan

I felt it would be very tiring for you specifically in this category. We can have submissions include a link to a strawpoll, quick and easy. The only bad thing is if people get greedy and vote things down for competitive reasons because there are more people that don't own a charcter rather than own them. But I think we have a pretty honest player base here don't you think? -hkeseyan

Yeah, that would make sense, especially for the insults/funny category. Basically on me to implement it, but sadly I'm still on travel/backcountry hiking for the next few weeks so I'm barely having enough time to finish the scoring, much less the big feature-building. Alas, the late-season start coincided with a big chunk of the summer travels I had planned this year. -nyan

I suppose if there are contentious ones that pop up, I can just start off with the "Like this comment if..." voting system for now. It's a better way to measure support vs dissent, since the current system relies on Likes vs. Protest comments which mean different things to differnet people. -nyan
