I need to dig deep (or maybe build a search function!), but there was a long discussion and this was changed around S6 or so. The main impetus was people learning things from Bran, which gave them power to decide what to do with that information. Now the main criteria in the rulebooks is "exclusivity" of the secret holders, along with how important the secret information itself is. -nyan

The comment about this ending with 'you miserable shits' etc doesnt undo this moment - that's the nature of Arya/the Hounds relationship. I dunno, I feel like Jaime was the key part in this. He knew exactly what he was doing and how it would make Brienne feel. She would never of been knighted if it wasn’t for Jaime. It was “an act of love” on Jaime’s part, maybe even the closest thing we’ll get to him confessing his love for her. Sam’s moment was about him finding out about his family, it was his moment not Daenerys’. Imo, this moment was about Brienne AND Jaime’s relationship. -conor_finlay
