If that's the reasoning--asserting their political power--what power did Balon actually assert? He didn't send Yara on any missions, didn't tell her to do or not do anything except be quiet, and I hope we aren't giving out points every time someone tells someone to be quiet :P

However, I would not consider Robert's second assertion as a decision. He made the decision in the small council. Ned tried to change his mind--Yara tries to change Balon's mind about going for more inland holdings--and both fail. It's a failure for Ned and Yara, not a success for Robert or Balon.

In a perfect parallel to Yara/Balon, Ramsay tries to convince Roose to go against Castle Black. Roose refuses. Yet he gets no political points. Possibly because Ramsay then kills him, but if Balon's "decision" counts, then Roose's decision counts as well. It's the same kind of "decision," it was already made before this episode. -alicehanners

There's a lot of other good discussion around bigger wholesale changes to the rule. As I said before, it's too unfair to existing players who made draft decisions based on rules at the beginning of the season. We'll incorporate these suggestions into a new ruleset, which league admins will be able to opt into. Pretty retarded that she gets 2 points less for bringing, arguably, the most important character in the show back from the dead than Thyrion gets for filling his glass with wine.
As for the people that "made draft decisions based on rules at the beginning", I think these people would be much more supportive of awarding over 3 points to Melisandre for her mitzvah than to awarding some weak prince 99 points for walking around. -jshragie

Adding it for now, but we'll see if it opens up a bad can of worms. The spirit of the category is to reward the really good moments written into the show that illicit a solid reaction from the viewer. Insults that make you go "ooh what a burn", threats that you make gulp in sympathy with the target, or funny lines that make you actually laugh. I don't doubt that we can find a handful of weird faces if we're looking really hard for them, but I don't think there are many that were good enough to spark an actual reaction from the audience, and this definitely seemed like one.

That said, everyone's laugh-meter is calibrated to a different level, so if facial expressions and small vocal ticks end up having a much higher variability of opinion vs the spoken lines, we'll revisit and maybe revoke this one. -nyan
