Definitely this is not the Iron Bank of the books with regards to the slave trade. It disappoints me slightly as it seems to cut out some of the conspiracy theories behind the Iron Bank/Faceless Men having a greater, secret agenda going on in the background. -nyan

@ssantise Tycho does not control The Iron Bank the same way Jon and Dany control their armies. The Iron Bank is subservient to Tycho, Tycho is subservient to The Iron Bank. This would be like Davos or Tyrion speaking on behalf of Jon or Dany. If we want to get bogged down into the details, there is real-life precedent for this, as corporations in the modern day are treated as their own entity.

The Iron Bank is its own entity, Tycho is an employee, he is an emissary, a broker for The Iron Bank in the literal sense of the word.

@hindsight44 you make a good point about the "gift" situation with Cersei and Euron. However, we explicitly see in that scene that Cersei declines the offer. Euron responds by explaining clearly that he will resume the talks only when he returns with his end of the deal. In this case, Tycho does not object to Cersei's request.

Another thing is that I think we are putting aside too many opportunities for convincing arguments and negotiations lately, and ignoring the fact that we have a betrayal category. A person's word means so much in Westeros, breaking oaths and loyalty are seen as a very significant event. We have a category just for these events, and we award points for betrayal. I say that unless we see a decline in a deal like this, we should score it as a deal and then see if betrayal occurs later. If Tycho breaks his end of the deal, or if Cersei breaks her end of the deal, that will be a very significant plot point that will be outlined in the show. -hkeseyan

It's not quite an explicit yes, but is a favorable response to everything Cersei just laid out. This is as opposed to Cersei's E1 response to Euron, which was an explicit "No." -nyan

Cersei has apparently accepted Euron's proposal for his hand in marriage from back in episode 1. Scoring for this event was delayed until we see confirmation that Cersei agrees to the deal, which we receive in this episode. I think it's fine that Cersei still says, "...after the war is won". Like Robert's order to send assassins for Daenerys, it's fine if the order is not carried out to completion, just that the course of action was decided upon. In addition, he does still convince Cersei to ally with the Ironborn and name him head of the Royal Navy. Although that's kind of trivial because it's basically all Ironborn ships at this point. -nyan

Also I don't believe this relevant to the slippery slope discussion. In that event the argument was based upon the idea that it was no secret that the dragonglass was at Dragonstone. Unlike the dragonglass there is no Stannis or Tyrion casually talking about where Theon was before Harrag pulled him on board. In fact as you pointed out, the only character to talk about Theon at all since he disappeared is Euron, who thinks he's dead, all the while Theon is secretly still alive. -ssantise

Jaime's dialogue seems to confirm it is Euron leading them, and there aren't any other Ironborn fleets led by anyone else at the moment. Giving Dany points here would be like giving Cersei credit for everything Euron and Jaime do.

I do think Tyrion is deserving of something for the plan, but he wasn't there to execute it and I'm not sure what the scoring category would be like. -nyan

We should assume Euron's ship Silence being prominently shown (as it has in every episode this season) means Euron is present, unless explicitly seen under the command of someone else. Just like the rule change with Dany's dragons.

As for Tyrion - he was only sort-of successful. His plan worked in terms of obtaining the castle, but it failed horribly in terms of making progress towards winning the war. I don't think you can expect Dany would be too happy with Tyrion's plan. Jaime sure was happy about it, though. His strategy likely doomed Dany's most trusted army. Grey Worm still gets points for winning the physical battle and actually capturing the castle, but Tyrion as a war strategist did not have a victory here. -hkeseyan
