So the one little bit of difference in my mind is that for the little kid, we see both the before and after. So it's a clear, "this happened during the course of the episode". The ram in this case, I don't think was shown anytime earlier, and I worry that giving points for *any* dead bodies that show up will lead to some later scene where we come across a field of hundreds of mutilated bodies and get a line "Drogon must have done this." or "this is the work of Gregor Clegane", and end up rewarding a bunch of points that never had a payoff for show watchers.

Open to other thoughts/interpretations though. This is a good precedent-setter either way. -nyan

Will have to bring the episode back up, but if I recall correctly the opening scene of the episode is the girl playing on the grass hillside. Then Drogon emerges from below the cliff and stares down at her. The later on in the episode the man comes to Daenerys' court with the charred bones. -nyan

Went back to do a rewatch, your memory of the events is right Alice. The scene I was thinking of is from S4E6 - Drogon rises above the cliff to stare down a boy goat herder, then ends up roasting a little goat and snatching it away. The boy escapes unscathed. Later in S4E10 the girls' bones show up without any prior introduction. I also found some previous precedents with Ramsay talking about killing people and just displaying the flayed corpses in S5 which were counted. So in keeping with that, this poor bbq'd ram will count! -nyan

@armizzle.diaz the dragons' actions will count for all of their respective category, so this is scored as kills, and if they shotgun a barrel of wine or decide to get incestuous, it'll count as wine/sex points. Will clarify the new precedent in rulebook. The "named" character definition will be bent a little to include:
* all draftable characters
* "boss fight" characters, to borrow from video game terminology (pending)

Similar to Bronn's wildfire explosion on the Blackwater (http://fantasora.com/event/1151), the whole ship went down with probably dozens if not hundreds of soldiers onboard, but it'd be impossible to speculate what that count would be. The 19 deaths here are based on the number of burning or otherwise injured soldiers shown on-screen.

So this only counts the ship that was burned by Daenerys atop the single dragon, but what about the deaths of the sailors from the other dragons? Ultimately, even though Jon Snow's kills in episode 9 were more personal and shown on screen, the amount of kills that Dany and her dragons committed far outweighed Jon's, thus she should not be trailing him for kills this episode.

I would suggest that the number of ships in the Master's Navy, which was hinted when the initial surrender talks were happening should be multiplied by the 19 we see die on screen. Each ship having 19 sailors evident on screen, but the entire navy is wiped out. I'd have to rewatch to get the exact figure he mentions, but I think it's either 100 or 1000. -mg.flanigan11

Anyway, the scene was kinda poorly scripted; but just the point of flying in there on a fucking huge dragon and shouting epic shit at people with blades in their hands was such an incredibly badass move that she definitely needed to get points for it, no matter what :D I know it's rather impossible to score, but Dany's special should be "performing acts of exceptional badassery/awesomeness" -Lem Lemoncake

I think convincing argument is actually the best fit here, if you see it as a negotiation - the castle for Edmure's life. The Freys are prepared to take at least one, and the Blackfish verbally calls their bluff and gets them to act his way (sparing Edmure, for now). What would you think about expanding "convincing argument" to including "winning a negotiation" to better fit these situations in the future? -nyan

Well he didn't really give an order that was carried out. I added it as convincing argument for the reasons outlined, but it isn't quite a perfect fit. Another one this could fit under is "secret discovery", i.e. he calls the Freys' bluff and discovers that they don't actually have the balls/permission to kill Edmure. -nyan

I guess it depends on when a follower is added? Not sure of the ruling if, say, a follower left then came back like maybe Jorah? Would it count twice? Also, if the follower is only counted once ever, I suppose a submission could be made at this point that Daenerys should gain the sand snakes and Olenna since Varys appears at the end in their discussion, surely this is meant to be her landing zone - Dorne. -mg.flanigan11

On the parallel to Davos, I've actually added his Jon Snow follower points here: http://fantasora.com/event/3026. It's a very similar situation in that the characters clearly became a follower at some point, but in a very gradual process. I'm not sure how to score these aside from waiting for a semi-official kind of moment.

Looking through, I actually can't find a Daenerys score for Tyrion as a follower in S5. It's possible this was an oversight, but unless someone can pinpoint a more official declaration of allegiance for Tyrion before this, this seems like the moment for him. -nyan

There is a interview with Emilia Clarke specifically about this scene. She agreed to do a nude scene if it was in private. So they filmed her I believe in Belfast on a "closed set" with only a couple of people. The rest of the scene was filmed in Spain I think and basically they used CGI to make it look like Khaleesi/Emilia was actually there with everyone else. -marksizzle

Further thought:

I really don't think this should score.

If we aren't super picky about *seeing* the death in flashbacks, then we can potentially construe any flashback of a known dead character we haven't scored yet to be a death, since we can extrapolate that they died from there. That's obviously absurd.

Therefore, it seems like we want the bar for confirmation for deaths in flashbacks to be higher than deaths in the present. -jedjackoway

Definitely we should avoid scoring any flashbacks deaths just because we know they are dead in present-time. In this case, I think all the blood + dialogue (Ned says "You're not going to die" but then Lyanna rejects his attempts to save her) gives just enough evidence to score it as a death even as a normal scene. It's a borderline one for sure, and I think you'll find scenes like a defeated Sandor Clegane just on the other side of that line. -nyan
