Generally we've set the precedent of taking off-screen descriptions of events for their word and counting them, even if we don't see them. I think convincing argument is actually the best fit here, if you see it as a negotiation - the castle for Edmure's life. The Freys are prepared to take at least one, and the Blackfish verbally calls their bluff and gets them to act his way (sparing Edmure, for now). What would you think about expanding "convincing argument" to including "winning a negotiation" to better fit these situations in the future? -nyan

I think the little birds brought him down there to stab him, not necessarily to show him. They stabbed him in the hall, and then he somehow stumbled upon the cache of wildfire, and tried to blow it out. So I feel they are independent events. -skywalkerdude

Pretty much we have to count the points here, the severed head is about as confirmed dead as you can get (else we second-guess every death on the show). The two options I can think of are:

1. Retroactively remove the points if the ruse is revealed later. Potentially upsets expectations if it changes scoring/wins from a long time ago (and what about season-spanning deception?)

2. Count the kills/death as they are apparently, and let the points stick. This allows for the same Characters to get multiple kill/death points, which was previously only allowed for very special cases (Jaqen H'ghar, Beric Dondarrion). Only exception is if the reveal happens in the same episode.

Leaning towards the second, as it's the easier way to keep consistent scoring (and not risk spoilers for late-watchers). -nyan

Both Roto and H2H have their own ways of dealing with an outsized scoring performance. For H2H, it only counts for 1 win whether you win by 3pts or 100pts, so Doran's performance is capped at 10% of the season and he now won't be contributing much else.

For Roto leagues, teams with Doran will now have a sizeable lead in the Specials category, but there's still time to make it up over the course of the rest of the season (e.g. if Hodor has a Hodor-outburst, it's probably in the same order of magnitude as Doran). Even if 1 performance is good enough to secure a whole category, it's still just 1 of 7 categories (worth ~14%), and Roto scoring is based off of the ranks - if you win a category by 3pts or 100pts, the 2nd-place team in that category is still just -1 roto points behind. -nyan
