In the rulebook for Kills.IV we have a rule for: "Pretty much any kind of strike on random extras is counted for a kill unless the extra is shown to be explicitly alive after. This is applied often for large battle scenes."

It's just a lot easier to count, else there are a lot of nitpicky debates that some strike is on a non-fatal region, or the shield bash didn't look strong enough, etc. -nyan

@jedjackoway I was really thinking about the boss fight criteria here, and originally I felt like this was just on the cusp of it. It was definitely more than the 2pt kill of the other extras, but then again the existing precedent for the 10pt "boss fight" was Jon Snow shattering a freaking White Walker into pieces at Hardhome. So this lived somewhere in between.

However they did feature the guy prominently, and the guy did have that utterly badass moment where he sliced the leg off of Bronn's horse. So I think we'll roll with it as a boss fight kill, and perhaps this can give a further criteria to what makes someone a "boss fight" character - characters who are featured in their own badass fighting moments or are shown to be wrecking the other extras. -nyan

I think everyone is missing the point here about the dragon kill. This is fantasy Game of Thrones, we are never going to accurately score each character for how much impact they truly have on the show. 1) because this is fantasy and we have to have rigid rules to score points for events instead of retroactively assigning point values to things and 2) because impact is subjective and we will never fully agree on who has more impact

The thing everyone who is complaining about points that characters deserve for certain events is sorely missing is that in fantasy we need to settle on points awarded for certain events and then the players play the game around that. Everyone knew ahead of time that killing a dragon would be 10 points. Everyone knew that drinking wine is 5 points and full frontal nudity is 20. Everyone knew that killing 5 random characters is the same as killing 1 named character no matter how tough or important they are. Playing fantasy Game of Thrones is a skill in and of itself, and whoever pays the most attention to those specific rules should be rewarded. If you drafted the Night King because you thought he is ultimately more powerful than someone like Jaime who has one hand, you made a terrible mistake by overlooking the fact that Jaime can drink, have sex, say good lines, rack up specials, have more screen time, while the Night King rarely does killing with his own hands, doesn't talk, have sex, or drink.

It is Nathan's job as the runner of this site to ensure that 1) the game is competitive and fair within its intended scope and 2) points are being counted for what they were implied to be counted for when people drafted their characters. You can say killing a dragon is more of a power than Sam reading 4 books but the fact remains that drafting the Night King with the hopes that a dragon kill would win your season was a bad fantasy move. -hkeseyan

Where our discussions about points should happen is in events where there is ambiguity or a dispute in whether or not something satisfies a condition for awarding points on an event. No one is denying a dragon was killed. You could've looked back and did your research and seen that killing giants and white walkers were the same number of points. -hkeseyan

What hkeseyan said <3 and I'd like to add that exactely this, for me personally at least, is what brings the fun into this: the seeming arbitrariness. That Doran Martell can have his one episode in which he does a few steps on his own to prove a point then die and score hugely for that single episode but never before or after. This is also one of the reasons why I now prefer H2H to Roto. I have Dany in my team and obviously have the by far highest overall scoring. Yeah to me, overruling Jaime is the most concrete thing that's been done so far. It's a little soft that simply meeting with Euron is a "major decision", but Jaime argues pretty hard against doing that and as Queen, and exerts her power by just doing it anyway. -nyan

I think it's fine that Cersei still says, "...after the war is won". Like Robert's order to send assassins for Daenerys, it's fine if the order is not carried out to completion, just that the course of action was decided upon. In addition, he does still convince Cersei to ally with the Ironborn and name him head of the Royal Navy. Although that's kind of trivial because it's basically all Ironborn ships at this point. -nyan

I Interprered this as two things. First was her decision that she is longer hiding their incest

I agree that this does deserved points for an Executive Decision, her openly revealing her incestual relationship is a Major Decision. However Cersie definitely should not be getting 2X multiplier for non-sexual acts. She already is probably going to be the highest scoring character in the game and if shes going to be more open about her relationship with Jamie she definitely cannot be getting 2X for everything she does.

I think we need clarification on the Cersie's special. The rule currently reads: "2x multiplier for sex scenes involving incest" although I believe it has the same meaning, I think it should be refined to read "2x multiplier for sexual ACTS involving incest". -ssantise

Battle of the Bastards did result in Battle Victory points for Ramsay (http://fantasora.com/event/2892). In the rulebook it states that large battles can be divided up and have multiple victory points awarded for each segment. Jaime's dialogue seems to confirm it is Euron leading them, and there aren't any other Ironborn fleets led by anyone else at the moment. Giving Dany points here would be like giving Cersei credit for everything Euron and Jaime do.

I do think Tyrion is deserving of something for the plan, but he wasn't there to execute it and I'm not sure what the scoring category would be like. -nyan

We should assume Euron's ship Silence being prominently shown (as it has in every episode this season) means Euron is present, unless explicitly seen under the command of someone else. Just like the rule change with Dany's dragons.

As for Tyrion - he was only sort-of successful. His plan worked in terms of obtaining the castle, but it failed horribly in terms of making progress towards winning the war. I don't think you can expect Dany would be too happy with Tyrion's plan. Jaime sure was happy about it, though. His strategy likely doomed Dany's most trusted army. Grey Worm still gets points for winning the physical battle and actually capturing the castle, but Tyrion as a war strategist did not have a victory here. -hkeseyan

The Scorpion is a notable weapon. If Jon drops Longclaw and Tormund or a White Walker pick it up to use briefly, they would get New Weapon points.

I see a point though that the weapon is already in possession of the Lannister army, and Bronn is simply a soldier in it. We'll see if it comes up again, I agree that if it's the same Scorpion and there's a second battle and we see Bronn firing it, it feels like a double count. I think the "noteable" aspect is important. Maybe we can find some case examples for the various faces of "noteable". I'd suggest:
- weapon has a fancy name such as Longclaw, Widow's Wail, Ice, whatever
- we see the weapon being handed over to someone in a festive or whatever special manner, such as Tywin handing out these Swords to Joff and Jaime or the Old Bear to Jon
- weapon is gained and has an important impact on something such as the Scorpion on the battle last episode; another possibility could be that someone recognizes a special weapon (such as Littlefinger's dagger) etc.

What I'm aiming at is that the "New Weapon" rule shouldn't apply to any new weapon that is being picked up by someone during a fight but to an event that has a noteable impact on the story or adds to the worldbuilding/mythology/lore of ASoIaF. -Lem Lemoncake

Cersei didnt give an order or change anything at all when she Overuled Jaimes advice to meet with Euron, she simply stayed the course after overuling her generals advice. Also this was clearly not a simple tit for tat conversation, Jaime says at the beginning of the episode he has to tell Cersei how bad this is. oh i thought references to jaime's loss of hand would count towards his special as well but mixed him up with theon there. i don't know if it should count as an incest referral - euron only stated the many ways in which he is superior to jaime. obviously he did this because everyone knows that jaime was/is cersei's lover and euron wants to replace him.
however, i don't feel like the incest implication is strong enough in this one :/

Tyrion refers to himself as an imp quite a few times, doesn't make it any less insulting. Being referred to as a "spider" regardless if he personally uses it does not change the negative connotations around being referred to as a spider.

I think Melissandre's line was both eloquent and masterfully stated. First she calmly patronizes him as her "Dear Spider", in direct response to his threat (which is almost enough of insult for points alone). I think context is what makes this a threat. Varys directly threatens her right before she says this. Before Varys threatened her she was passive and very open with Varys. This 180 attitude was to respond a threat with another threat. We have no evidence or proof to show this was definitvley from the flames, have Mel even interepted flames since Stannis?

Also this isnt a plain direct threat like Dany saying" Betray me and i will burn you alive." If there was no wit or innuendo Mel would have simply said "Varys you will die in Westeroes." But she did use wit.If you read between the lines what she meant by this was we are equals. Mel knows Varys hates magic and all who follow it, he has a very elitist and arrogant attitude when dealing with Magical entities (specifically priests of Rhollor). So when she says 'i will die here just like you.' she is saying get off your high horse you are no better than me, this country will claim both of us . Need to address the submissions from E4. I didn't initially score any of these since they seemed to fall short of Bronn's previous lines, which were generally more instructive or "technical", and these were mostly general comments about the battle (any soldier could have said them, they weren't specific to Bronn's expertise). I think some of these lines could work though, but I do think there's a line that prevents Bronn's special from being a score anytime he says anything battle-related.

I hear what youre saying and i think if you take everything Bronn has said about fighting in the past two episodes there are about ten different quotes that can be directly linked to fighting. Im not saying he should get points for everything said but i think its even more extreme to give him none at all.

In e4: Discussing with Jaime whether or not to stay is directly talking strategy, so is in a later scene deciding whether or not who is best fit to use the Scorpion.

E5: Letting Jaime know that riding up to a dragon to end a war and then saying you will no longer fight for him because its a lost cause is about fighting strategy(i think this combined points should be one special.) Also in a later scene telling Jaime the reason he can fight in old age is because he trains alot is also talking fighting strategy.

i would also suggest that there is some language put in Bronns special that it requires his expertise for it to count. Cersei isnt an expert at pouring wine, Sansa isnt an expert at crying, There isnt a specific type of book sam has to read for it to be read from a book. I chose Bronn because he is the #2 to the General of the Lannister army and they would be talking about general fighting strategies alot. If i knew that it was only expertise i would have chosen someone different. Also Davos says funny things alot that didnt stop him from getting 30 points for every single joke he made. -hindsight44

I'll agree it's not so well written - you'll see there is a common thread in the previous scores that Bronn has a hard-on for trenches being dug the right way, having proper footwork, and what kind of armor he prefers to wear and that was the idea behind his Special. They're lines about this really niche fighting stuff that only Bronn would think about. Contrast to here, where you could literally drop in any character that could have told Jaime "Three Dragons? You're fucked." If he started talking about the weight of the bolts he fired or how thick the dragon scale was, that's a classic Bronn line.

I've changed the wording a bit on Bronn's special to better reflect that - it now reads "+1 point when he gives expert critique/advice on fighting strategy". -nyan

Definitely, Littlefinger was always the most dangerous man in Westeros, I imagined his demise would see him get all the way to the pinnacle of power, and only then to get backstabbed by Sansa.

I'd have a hard time writing a good S7 storyline for Littlefinger though. I think they put themselves into a corner by showing Sansa was through with him and saw everything. In my fantasy storyline, Sansa is the only Stark who sees a reedeming quality in Baelish, and goes along with his schemes against the better advice of all her family and followers. And then at the pinnacle do we find out that Sansa was the one playing an even longer game, and perhaps she can actually be as selfishly power-thirsty as Arya accuses her. It'd be awesome if we had one Stark who was questionably a villain, and not all goody-goodies. -nyan

Isn't Arya the villain Stark? I know that the series tries to make her somewhat sympathetic every now and then, that she is still the little Arya girl, but she actually went full blown egomaniac, sociopath and serial killer since she left King's Landing - which is even comprehensible considering her experiences and possible traumas. -Lem Lemoncake

This one was added, though it does feel like a slight dropping of the bar. In keeping with the spirit of previous Bronn scores, I think there is some aspect to Bronn's fighting expertise/experience that went into all his score-worthy lines, which you can see in his previous scores here: http://fantasora.com/char/23/

Like with Jorah's "encyclopedia of Essos" special, there was definitely this facet of their character where they would launch into their expertise of this area and give these specific comments that you would never hear from any other character. Examples:

* "Now that is a sorry attempt at a siege. *Someone needs to teach those sad twats how to dig trenches*."

* "Have your lads start digging perimeter trenches. Set pickets every hundred yards. And work double-time on those siege towers and trebuchets."

* "You want to learn that sort of fighting? ... *All right, let's start with your footwork...*"

* "A cloak slows you down in a fight, makes it hard to move quietly. And the gold catches the light, so you're nice and easy to spot at night."

I've added in the line here because it could be argued that the statement "those fuckers are about to swamp us" is a keen military insight that is unique to Bronn. But personally I can just as easily imagine the line being said by a Randyll Tarly or a random Lannister foot soldier. -nyan
